About TechCompare

TechCompare is an independent review and comparison site for computers, tablets, keyboards, monitors, and audio gear. Our goal is simple: help you choose the right product and avoid wasting money on the wrong one.

Who we are

TechCompare is written and reviewed by an independent editorial team with hands-on experience across consumer electronics. Each comparison is reviewed by a category specialist before publication. We're not affiliated with Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Beelink, Logitech, AULA, Redragon, Minisforum, GMKtec, or any other manufacturer we cover. Our only revenue comes from affiliate links, which we always disclose — and which never change our recommendations.

Our reviewers

Each TechCompare comparison is owned by a named human reviewer. We don't use uncredited-byline content, AI-generated reviews without human review, or ghostwriters.

Jordan Kade

Lead Editor — Tablets & Mini PCs

Jordan leads our coverage of tablets and small-form-factor PCs. With 10+ years in consumer hardware reviews (and a former stint at NotebookCheck), Jordan's specialty is Apple silicon performance analysis and home-server hardware. Daily driver: an iPad Air (M4) and a Beelink SER8. Owns more USB-C cables than is reasonable.

Lena Voss

Reviews Editor — Keyboards & Peripherals

Lena is a former community moderator on r/MechanicalKeyboards and covers input devices, ergonomic keyboards, and desk-setup gear. Background in mechanical design, with a focus on how switches actually feel after 8 hours of typing — not just how they sound in a YouTube review. Daily driver: an AULA F75 and a Logitech MX Mechanical.

Marcus Reyes

Senior Contributor — Laptops & Mobile Workstations

Marcus covers laptops and mobile hardware, with a specialty in long-running real-world battery and thermal testing (the kind of testing that YouTube reviews can't replicate in a 10-minute video). 8 years in mobile hardware reviews; tracks AMD Ryzen and Apple M-series chipset performance closely.

Priya Shah

Audio & Wearables Editor — Earbuds & Headphones

Priya reviews wireless earbuds and headphones, focusing on real-world ANC performance (cabin pressure, cafe chatter, bus noise — not just synthetic test tones), Bluetooth codec trade-offs (LDAC vs aptX vs AAC), and the new wave of hearing-aid integration in consumer audio gear. Background in audio engineering.

Sam Okafor

Displays & Peripherals Editor — Monitors & Docks

Sam covers monitors and peripherals, specializing in color-accurate workflow recommendations for content creators and USB-C dock/KVM comparisons for hybrid workers. Maintains a personal calibration workflow with a Calibrite ColorChecker and colorimeter, so our monitor reviews use the same measurement tools as professional reviewers.

Our review methodology

We research current models across multiple retailer and review sources, compare real specifications and prices, and summarize the honest tradeoffs. For every product we consider:

  • We verify specifications and pricing against live retailer listings.
  • We read buyer reviews and owner communities (Reddit, dedicated product forums) to surface real-world strengths and weaknesses.
  • We cross-reference independent reviewers like NotebookCheck, RTINGS, and Wirecutter for context.
  • We date every update, so you know how fresh the information is.
  • Each comparison is reviewed by at least two editors before publication.

We focus on the questions that actually matter when you're about to spend money:

  • What do you get for the price?
  • Where does each product win, and where does it fall short?
  • Which product is right for your needs — not just "the best"?

Editorial independence

We use affiliate links, and we always disclose them (see our affiliate disclosure). Earning a commission never changes our verdicts. If a product is a poor value, we say so. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or free products from manufacturers.

Accuracy and updates

Prices and specifications change. Every article shows a "last updated" date, and we revisit comparisons to keep them current. If you spot an error, please contact us and we'll fix it promptly.
